Racing Ricky will be travelling to visit the various agencies, organizations, and supporters of the program. During his travels, he will be recording his experiences with pictures and journal entries in his extraordinary scrapbook. Along with visits to the Director of Education and Area Superintendents, he is visiting numerous community partners of RAD Durham in both the Durham District and Catholic School Boards.
School Read 4 RAD Relay:
In 2010, five of Racing Ricky's friends will be travelling to every school in the Durham and Catholic District School Boards to participate in the "Read for RAD Relay":

Left to Right Racing Ray Oshawa Schools Racing Ronnie Pickering Schools Racing Ricky Racing Raja Ajax Schools Racing Randy Northern Schools Racing Rhonda Whitby Schools
On their visits each racer will be bringing a special book , entitled *Riding the Tiger, and a lesson plan to share with the Grade 5 students at each school. The book reflects everything that the Racing Against Drugs Durham program is about (substance abuse prevention, healthy lifestyle choices and personal safety). In this powerful allegorical tale, the tiger is interpreted to represent substance abuse, gangs, or other issues. This book provokes discussions about temptation, peer pressure, and conformity and encourages thoughtful discussion on all of these topics. All of the racers have their own special scrapbook so that the students can record the visit to their school by designing a scrapbook page and group journaling. Announcements to Area schools will be made by RAD co-ordinators as the books travel from school to school. Students will then record the travels of their racing character on maps of their Area provided to them
